This Paper Rocket Bookmark craft is perfect for my family. My husband is an aerospace engineer by trade so rockets are a common theme when we encourage our kids (all daughters!!) to dream as big.
Paper crafts are always fun for sure… but rockets give us the opportunity to dream about what seems beyond our reach.
And basically, rockets are super cool.
We created this Rocket Father’s Day card too!
Rocket Craft for Kids
How to Make A Paper Rocket Bookmark
The supplies are probably already in your craft supplies! And if not, they are super inexpensive
Before you being, always gather your paper rocket supplies! You will need:
scissors,
construction paper in the colors you prefer for your rocket (I love the bold colors but pick whatever kids will love),
cardstock (for the “stick” part of the bookmark so it is sturdier),
glue,
pencil,
ruler,
and of course your printable paper rocket template.

Paper Rocket Bookmarks
Ingredients
- Construction paper in various colors
- Cardstock
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Glue
- Printable template
Instructions
- Select different colors of paper for the rocket pattern. Prepare the template patterns by printing and cutting them out. Trace the patterns on the selected craft papers and cut them out using scissors. The template includes the main part of the rocket (bullet-shaped), 2 side wings, window (2 round shapes), triangular shape (the top end of the rocket), 2 flame patterns and bottom part of the rocket (trapezoid-shaped).
- Grab the main body part (bullet-shaped) and the trapezoid-shaped paper. Stick the trapezoid-shaped paper on the bottom side (straight end) of the bullet-shaped paper.
- Stick the triangular paper cutout on the top end of the main body part of the rocket.
- Take the 2 round-shaped papers and stick the small round paper on the big round paper. Stick the round papers on the middle of the paper rocket pattern.
- Take the sides wings of the rocket and stick them on both sides of the rocket, keeping the pointy ends facing outwards.
- Now take the 2 flame cutouts and stick the smaller flame pattern on the middle of the big flame cutout. Â
- Stick the flame pattern on the bottom side of the rocket.
- Cut out a strip of paper from cardstock paper (side of your choice).
- Stick the paper rocket on the cardstock strip. The bookmark is ready!
