This Pork Spice Rub gets mixed up in big batches and stored in a jar on my spice shelf. It is fantastic on ribs before they go on the grill or the smoker (and goes well under barbecue sauce!). It also works great on pork shoulder before putting it in the slow cooker for pulled pork!
If making pulled pork in the slow cooker, I cut two onions in half and place them at the bottom of the slow cooker so the meat doesn’t sit on the bottom – and the extra flavor is great! I rub this spice all over the pork shoulder. Place it on top of the onions, fat side up. Close the lid and cook on low until the pork pulls apart easily with a pork. It is usually 7-8 hours depending on the size of your pork shoulder. YUM!
